Meaning of the following names: Mariam, Samga, Khalied

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org
Answer

1. Maryam – originally a Hebrew word meaning worshipful (equivalent to the
Arabic word Aabidah)
2. If the name is Samha with the Arabic letter haa and not khaa or ghayn,
then it holds the following meanings: generous, open hearted, magnanimous,
forgiving, etc.
3. Khalid from the Arabic root ‘Khuld’ meaning eternal existence in a world
without exit therefrom, (as in the contect of eternail existence in the
hereafter). It also hold meaning of general residence or existence for a
long time. Thus, Khalid could have the meaning of ‘one having a long life’
or ‘one who will remain forever in paradise’ (as a good omen).
