How do I reduce my self-cautiousness?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Assalamu Alaikum WRB,

I have a question in regards to self awareness.

I have a sence of cautiousness in myself and I am always thinkng I am being watched by people near me, specially in mazajid when I pray my intention keeps changing that people are watching and I try to do my actions correct and forget I am praying for Allah for a moment. Please advice how do I reduce my self cautiousness and concentrate on pleasing Allah.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Assalāmu ῾alaykum wa Rahmatullāhi Wabarakātuh

When you are in public, then people will notice you. That is a reality. There is nothing wrong on being conscious of that. When performing Salah, your intention should be to please Allah alone and not people. Remind yourself of the pleasure of Allah and renew your intention.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
