Juggling Family and Religious Responsibilities: Going to the Store with Mom?

Q: If my mother is to travel alone to a shop to purchase some item, is it necessary for me to accompany her? She will be driving. Also, if accompanying her will perhaps interfere with my performing of Salaah punctually, what will the ruling be now?

A: On account of the abundant fithna prevalent everywhere, women are discouraged from driving or travelling alone. If your mother has any need to purchase anything, then you should purchase it for her at a time when it will not affect your Salaah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
