Can I use money from haram investment in shares of a bank?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I did not know about the severe things about investing money in share business of a bank. Now I know that we should not invest in banks. The money I have invested are really important to me. What can I do now? Can I use the money without the profit? Or the whole capital also became haram for me?

Answer

(Fatwa: 497/392/B=1434)

You can withdraw and use as much amount as you have invested in it. You can withdraw whatever extra amount you can get also but you should give it to poor, needy ones or debtors etc without the intention of reward. It is not lawful for you to take the extra amount for your personal use.
