What’s the difference between a horizontal and vertical black stone?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Please reply me as I am totally confused as one of my Hindu friend asked me, how Islam is against murty pooja? When at Kabah Muslims are revolving around the holy Kaba what is inside of your Kabah? Then I replied a black stone, then he asked what is in Mahadev Temple? Again I replied Shiva ling? Then he again asked me what is Shiva ling, I replied it is a black stone. Then what is difference between horizontal black stone and vertical black stone?

Answer

(Fatwa: 55/39/D=1434)

Almighty Allah has ordered to circle around the Ka’ba in a particular way and it is called tawaf. Doing tawaf is in accordance with Allah’s order. You are wrong; Hajr Aswad (the Black Stone) is installed on the outer wall of Ka’ba not inside it. The inside look is just like a room of masjid.
The Hindus worship Shiva Ling while Muslims neither worship the Ka’ba nor of Hajr Aswad (the Black Stone), rather they worship only Allah and consider Him alone worthy of worship. It is something else to worship something, consider him the possessor of profit and loss and trouble-shooter and fulfiller of need; the Muslims neither worship Hajr Aswad and Ka’ba nor consider them the possessor of profit and loss. While those who worship Shiva Ling they have such beliefs. Thus these two concepts are as different to each other as the earth and the heaven rather more.
