Performing Umrah during the months of Hajj

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulihsan.com
Q: Is it permissible for a person from South Africa to perform Umrah during the months of Hajj without performing Hajj?

A: It is permissible to perform Umrah during the months of Hajj without performing Hajj. Merely performing Umrah does not make Hajj compulsory on a person. However, if he is in Makkah Mukarramah during the months of Hajj and has the financial means to stay on till Hajj then Hajj will be compulsory on him if he has not yet performed his Fardh Hajj.
