Wudhu With Hair Gel

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Please provide me with some advice regarding hair gel, wudhu and salaat. I use a tiny bit (1/2 a centimetre in diameter) for the sake of neatness. The gel appears to be quite soluble in water, such that when I make masah, it becomes different in shape and “style” (meaning it is not completely hard in texture). Putting my hat on renders it completely flat. Normally plain water can remove most of it (I shampoo it off at the end of the day). Is my wudhu valid?

A: If the hair gel is soluble then it is permissible.
