If a pilgrim delays his going-forth circumambulation until just before he leaves Mecca, then does this suffice as his farewell circumambulation?
زIt seems that this would not suffice in our school. This is because the imams have said that the farewell circumambulation can only be performed after completing all the Hajj rites.
However, the Hanbalis explicitly state that such a circumambulation would count as the farewell circumambulation and there is ease in their position. Al-Mardawi, one of their late scholars,said in the Insaf, (4/51-52) “And he who delays his going-forth circumambulation and does it when he is leaving [Mecca], it suffices in place of the farewell circumambulation.” This is the position of the school and this is what the early scholars say.
