Once I was reading Bahshti Zewar, while reading I had to say “things to divorce” in urdu (talaq denay ki cheezain) but instead of this I mistakenly uttered “divorce given things” in urdu ( talaq dia ki cheezain) without the intention of divorce. After this I repeated this again.
Does saying “Talaq dia ki cheezain” without the intention of divorce constitute the divorce?
Answer:
If a person pronounces the statement, “divorce given things” or any other statements with the words of divorce, Talaq will not take place unless such statements are directed to one’s wife; e.g., “you are given a divorce”, “my wife is given a divorce etc”.
