Question:
Assalaamualaikum
I am an artist and i try to stay within the bounds of my religion when it comes to drawing. I understand the we are only allowed to draw inanimate objects.
However, I would like to know what constitutes an inanimate object? What if it is a moving car, plane or ship that is being driven by a person inside. Are we still allowed to draw that?
Answer:
It is not permissible to draw living beings like people and animals unless the facial features are absent. If you are drawing a vehicle with a person inside it, the drawing will be permissible provided that the facial features of the person are not visible.
