Question:

Can a person pay fidyah before the month of Ramadan or does the month have to pass by first?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Fidyah cannot be paid before the commencement of the month of Ramadan. It can be paid as soon as Ramadan has started or toward the end of the month.1
