Is It Permissible To Sell Pet Accessories For Dog Owners?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Answered by Shaykh Abdul-Rahim Reasat

Question

I am planning to sell dog accessories for dogs or other pet animals.

Is it permissible in Islam to do such business and will the earnings be halal?

Answer

I pray you are well.

Yes, it is permissible to sell those pet accessories – even for dogs. Having a pet dog is the house is not permissible, but having dogs for other uses, such as security is permissible. Therefore, there is a need for such products, and selling them is permissible. [Nahlawi, al-Durar al-Mubaha]

Intend to facilitate the good treatment of animals and you’ll be rewarded for what you do. The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “In [being good to] every living being there is a reward.“ (Bukhari)

May Allah grant you every success.
