I’m jobless, can I beg? (Hanbali Fiqh)

Answered as per Hanbali Fiqh by HanbaliDisciples.com
Q: Asalamu alaikum. I know Islaam hates begging. But, whatever job I apply to rejects me. It has already been a year. I am not sure what else to do. I dislike my situation/circumstance and I am trying to change it. I have tried everything. Does it mean I deserve poverty from Allaah for unknown reasons?
A: Wa ‘alaykum al-salam. I would not resort to begging. Applying for Zakat in your current situation may be just the thing you need. Those who are allowed to receive it are permitted to ask for it. (source Bidayat al-Abid)

Continue to seek the necessary and beneficial means to seeking Allah’s provision, put your trust in Him, and do not see your self incapable. Attitude is everything! May Allah bless you, make things easy, and grant you success in this life and the next.
