Installing CCTV cameras – is it allowed?

Assalamualaikum
A few days ago I read an article in a news paper Times Of India that installation of CCTV Cameras in homes, shops and another places are un Islamic thing, fatwa issued by Darululoom Deoband. Therefor I wish to know  your view point regarding this matter.
Our regional people are so confused about it

The answer to your question is as follows:

Installation of CCTV cameras without a genuine (shariee) reason is not allowed. Today people are using it mostly as fashion. So it should be avoided. Nevertheless, in sensitive areas or wherever it is truly necessitated, installation of CCTV camera is allowable.
