Does erythritol break a fast?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Question:

Does erythritol break a fast?

Answer:

In The Name Of Allah, The Most-Merciful, The Most Kind

Erythritol is a type of sugar alcohol. Erythritol occurs naturally in some fruits and fermented foods, while manufacturers add an industrially fermented version to low sugar and sugar-free food and drink options.

With this being said it will break the fast. Anything that is edible and consumed in liquid or solid form knowingly will break the fast. [1]
