I have a question regarding the prohibition of music.

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

I have a question regarding the prohibition of music. What do you have to say to the claims being made by the following website (http://www.submission.org/music.html)? Also, what do you have to say regarding ayahs 66:1 and 33:37? Please go through each of these arguments and clear up any misconceptions.

Answer

The referred site is authored by one Rashaad Khalifa who has corrupt beliefs
and rejects Ahaadith. Kindly refer attached, ‘Rejectors of Ahaadith’.

Music is expressly prohibited in many Ahaadith. Among the dominant purposes
of our beloved Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) was to destroy musical
instruments. (Mishkat vol.2). refer attached
