Investment that accrues interest

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I am investing with a group but the investment attracts 3% interest. I know interest is haram.

If the investment makes a profit and my share is given to me, can I reject the 3% of my profit which stands out as the interest to make my profit halaal?

Bismillaah

A: The safer way will be that if you cannot leave it out then make istighfaar, and the 3 percent of interest give it out to some poor deserving person without the intention of thawaab.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
