Should You Avoid Wearing Nike?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I have read somewhere that it is better to avoid wearing Nike, because it symbolizes a ‘Greek mythical figure’ (if you know what I mean). But what about selling the shoes.  Because Nike and Jordan are amongst the best selling shoes.

Bismillaah

A: The nike logo is symbolic of the Greek goddess. Hence, when this has a kufr connotation, then it is not permissible for one to wear and sell Nike shoes. It will be similar to a Christian cross or the Hindu three with the tail at the bottom.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
