Reciting Qur’an while azaan in being called out

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q:

1. Our house is near the musjid. Whenever the adhan is called out, we can hear it clearly. After Maghrib I usually study/memorize qur’an so whenever the adhan is called should I stop and listen to the adhan until it is fnished or I can continue studying while the adhan is being called?

2. Is there a dua after adhan?

Bismillaah

A:

1. Both are permissible. It is better to listen to the azaan and answer it.

2. Yes. Refer to the following link: http://ihyaauddeen.co.za/?p=7592

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
