Accepting fruits and vegetables from a Hindu neighbour

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I would like to know if we can eat vegetables /fruits from my Hindu neighbours garden? Also can we eat the goodies sent during the year?

Bismillaah

A:

1. Yes

2. If through goodies you are referring to sweets and chocolates which they send to you as a gift, then it is permissible for you to accept it and consume it provided it is not the time of their religious festivals.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
