Constant Sneezing in Prayer

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Answered by Ustadh Tabraze Azam

Question: I (try) to follow the Hanafi Madhab and would like to know if sneezing constantly during Prayer invalidates the Prayer. At one point, I had to momentarily stop praying, (because of a constant session of sneezing-which doesn’t usually occur) but afterwards I continued. Now, im not sure if it’s correct or acceptable?

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I pray that you are well, insha’Allah.

No, sneezing in such a fashion would not invalidate your prayer.

This is as long as you generally remained in the prayer posture such that were an onlooker to see you at that moment, they would say that you were in prayer. [Shurunbulali, Maraqi al-Falah]

And Allah alone gives success.
