Do I Need To Repeat All Of My Witr Prayers?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Question:  Some months back, I had learned that I had been reciting Dua Qunoot incorrectly in my Witr Salat for many years.  I had initially memorized it correctly, but at some point, I began mixing and missing some words. I do not remember now how I would recite it, but I have since then corrected my recitation. Since I would at least say the beginning correctly which includes Allahumma and other possible dhikr from parts of it, do I need to repeat all my Witr?

Answer:
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,

Assalam’aleykum, I pray this finds you in the best of states.

Jazakum Allah khayr for your question!

No, you do not need to repeat the Witr prayers that you have prayed with an incorrect supplication of “Qunut.” This is because any supplication performed instead of the Qunut of Witr is enough to fulfill this necessary (wajib) action, especially if one has not memorized the full Qunut of Witr. [Nur Al-Idah]

And Allah knows best.

I hope that the above answers your question. If something is unclear please do not hesitate to ask again.

May  Allah Most High grant you the best of this world and the next. Please keep us in your du’as!

Wassalam
