Fear of Losing Faith: Coping with the Possibility of Misguidance in Islam

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I feel that a person will come and take me away from Islam. He will misguide me and I will be misguided. I am so scared ( afraid) that I will loose my faith and a misguided person will come and misguide us. I don’t know what to do? It’s too complicated for me.

Bismillaah

A: Do not let your mind go in this direction. However be punctual on your five daily Salaah on it’s prescribed time and ensure that you protect your eyes, ears and heart from committing sin. Similarly refrain from all doubtful things (e.g. cellphone, internet, TV, novels, anti-Islamic literature, company, etc.) and observe strict purda from all na mahrams.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
