Marrying a married man

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Are we as Muslim women allowed to marry a married Muslim man. I like my boss. Everyone says he is married but he never told me he was married. I really like him and I think he likes me too. Is it wrong if I tell him how I feel towards him and pursue him?

Bismillaah

A: We advise that you get your elders involved. The best thing for women is to remain at home and not to be at the workplace. When women go out to workplaces then these are the problems that they will encounter. Hence, remain at home and guard your respect and chastity. In these matters, don’t become bold by not keeping in the spirit of Islam.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
