Basing one’s ibaadat on feelings

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Some people abandon or give preference to one form of Ibadat over another, simply on the basis that they claim to get a buzz or feeling from one, which they don’t get from another. Is this a correct understanding?

A: To base your ibaadat on feelings is not right. It is likely that the one who bases his ibaadat on feelings may leave out something that is compulsory for something that is mustahab only on the basis of feelings.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
