Q: My haul-date in zakat is the 27th of Ramadan. Is it permissible for me to pay X pounds before the 27th, if I know that my zakat will be to more than X pounds, and pay the rest after the 27th (when I have calculated the exact amount)? Or do I have to pay everything after the 27th?
A: It is permissible for one to discharge his zakaat before the zakaat date. However after calculating the zakaat on the zakaat date, if one had discharged less zakaat, then he should discharge the remaining amount.
And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
( ولو عجل ذو نصاب ) زكاته ( لسنين أو لنصب صح ) لوجود السبب
و في رد المحتار : قوله ( لوجوب السبب ) أي سبب الوجوب وهو ملك النصاب النامي فيجوز التعجيل لسنة وأكثر كما إذا كفر بعد الجرح وكذا النصب لأن النصاب الأول هو الأصل في السببية والزائد عليه تابع له
قال في البحر ولا يخفى أن الأفضل عدم التعجيل للاختلاف فيه عند العلماء ولم أره منقولا (رد المحتار 2/293)
ويجوز التعجيل لأكثر من سنة لوجود السبب كذا في الهداية (الفتاوى الهندية 1/176)
