Participating in kufaar celebrations

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by

Q: Being an Indian Muslim we have to cooprate with our kafir friends, neighbours with there celebrations. Is it permissible?

A: It is impermissible for a believer to have a close relationship with a kaafir. Apart from necessities of life (e.g. business dealings, work, etc) a Mu’min should not associate with a kaafir. For a believer to participate in kufaar celebrations and functions is totally impermissible.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
