Q: In salaah do I have to recite bismillahirrahmanirraheem before surah fateha? Does this make for the 7 ayats mentioned in quran?
A: It is preferable.
( و ) كما تعوذ ( سمى ) غير المؤتم بلفظ البسلمة لا مطلق الذكر كما في ذبيحة ووضوء ( سرا في ) أول ( كل ركعة ) ولو جهرية
قال الشامي في رد المحتار : وذكر في المحيط المختار قول محمد وهو أن يسمي قبل الفاتحة وقبل كل سورة في كل ركعة (رد المحتار 1/490)
