Using soap and shampoo during ghusal

Q: Few people mentioned to me that we shouldn’t use soap/shampoo during ghusal as it is done only with water, is this correct?

I usually pour water completely on my body and put soap/shampoo and then clean it properly. I understand that during ancient times there was no soap/shampoo so it was washed with only water.

A: No. Both ways are permissible.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
