Cutting a portion of the hair after performing umrah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: What is the ruling regarding cutting of the hair (for males) after your umrah has been made? Is it permissible to just cut a little and not shave it off?

Bismillaah

A: If one trims the hair of quarter of the head (and the length of the trimmed hair equals one third of a finger), one will come out of ihraam, though cutting the hair in this manner is impermissible as the hair on one’s head will not be even. If one trims less than this amount, one will not come out of the state of ihraam

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
