Depriving an heir of inheritance

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Before my grandmother died, she said that she will not give any inheritance to my father. Now my grandmother has died, will my father get his share of the inheritance?

Bismillaah

A: Yes. This wealth does not belong to her after she is deceased. She has no right to appoint anybody as an heir or remove anybody from being an heir.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
