Complaining about someone stealing

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by

Q: A few days ago I’ve seen a cousin of mine stealing another cousins watch. And I complained to his mother because this cousin of mine is going astray. He got angry with me. Now I feel bad, thinking I’ve committed a sin by complaining. So did I actually commit a sin

N.B It’s not the first time he stole.

A: This is not a sin.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
