Seller charging a certain customer extra

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: We chose a cow for Qurbaani last Thursday. The price the seller is charging other customers known to us is R38 per kg. When he sent us the bill it was at R41.50 Per kg. My husband queried it because it did’nt make sense. The seller responded that the cow will put on weight in next two weeks and based on that he is charging (only us) the extra cost per kg. He also said he has his own system of working cost out which he does not have to explain and we can cancel the purchase if not suitable to us. When queried with other customers, they were quite surprised to hear of it. Is it permissible for him to conduct business in this way?

Bismillaah

A: He has the right to do this.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
