Lying to one’s parents to get extra money

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I am a student and I lied to my parent on the amount of money I want to buy a book. So I collected the money from them and I bought the book but I invested the remaining money in a business and I am making profit but now I am feeling as if the profit and business is haram. Should I give the money and business to them in order to clear my sin?

Bismillaah

A: Return to them the excess.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
