When should the index finger be raised in tashahhud?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I just want to ask when performing the tashahhud, when will I raise my finger and when should I place it down?

Bismillaah

A: When saying أَنْ لا إِلٰهَ  form a ring with the thumb and middle finger of the right hand, raise the index finger and close the remaining two fingers. When saying إِلاَّ الله lower the index finger. The ring will be kept till the end of the tashahhud.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
