Is cannibalism permissible if there is no food?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I heard that if people are on a journey where no availability of food and they will die of hunger, that it is permisible for one of them to sacrifice himself for the others to survive (i.e to be eaten). And if any of them can’t sacrifice himself, and they all die at that stage, they are all going to hellfire. Please is there any correction to this rulling?

Bismillaah

A: This is wrong.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
