Q: A revert muslim is required to be buried. People in the community can verify he or she is a Muslim. The trustee who controls the qabrastan requests for an affidavit confirming that the deceased is a Muslim. (Take into account that doing an affidavit which may be commissioned by a non believer).

A: An affidavit is not required. If it is known that he or she was a believer, then he or she should be buried in the Muslim graveyard.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
