Daughter in-law travelling alone with her father in-law

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: My sister in-law has gone with her 6 month old son to her parents house for a holiday overseas. My brother had gone to leave her. Is it permissible if my father (her father in-law) picks her up and brings her back home and be her mahram if her husband is tied back with work? Also is her father in-law allowed to be her mahram?

Bismillaah

A: Though it is permissible for her to travel with her father in-law as he is her mahram, however, on account of the abundant and overwhelming fithna found nowadays and the suspicions and doubts that are created in the minds of people, it is not advisable for the daughter in-law to travel alone with her father in-law.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
