Paying a fee in order to view an animal

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is it permissible to pay a fee to view an animal i.e., visit a zoo?

Bismillaah

A: It is not permissible to pay a fee in order to view an animal. However in the case of visiting the zoo, the fee that is charged is an entrance fee. After one pays the fee, one is allowed to enter the premises and view the animals.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
