Stray dogs entering premises

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulUloomTT.net

Q. My property is not fenced, hence dogs from the nearby street are entering on my premises and messing (#2) around the house. My neighbors do not have any dogs and I do not know who the owners are. It’s a real nuisance right now. What should I do regarding putting a stop to this?

A. First of all, you should find out who are the owners, and let them know of the situation. If there are no owners as you say, then you can inform the relevant authorities of what is taking place, so that they can come and take away the stray dogs.

And Allah knows best.
