Question: Salaams, with the advances in technology we now have the mass use of the app (applications) that are used primarily on cellphones and tablets. The question is: are the Quran apps that are available for smart phones etc. permissible to donload and install in one’s mobile device, seeing that the cellphone goes with the owner in and out of washrooms etc.? Considering that these apps are only activated or launched when desired. Jazakhallah for the feedback.
Answer: Wa Alaikum As Salaam,
It is permissible to download the Quran apps on the mobile device. When going to the washroom/toilets, one should not activate these apps.
