Assalamlikum 1) Please provide me a fatwa regarding my plot (land) Zakath. I have a small plot present value less than Rs.3 lakhs. This plot I keep for my daughter’s marriage expenses now she is small. So, in this case I have to pay zakath on this plot value or not. Please provide me the FATWA under Islamic law. Answer:
(Fatwa: 1731/1464=B/1429)
If he has purchased the plot with the intention of selling, he will have to give zakah of its value annually, but if he had no intention to sell it, then there is no zakah on it. Perhaps, he had no intention of selling it while purchasing, but he intended that it might be helpful in future, so there will be no zakah on it.
