salaam Mufti Shahayb very long time ago when i was young i stole 2 items..? what can i do to make up for my sin..? the two items i still have with me, i cannot return the items. (Fatwa: 300/300/M=1431)
It is wajib to return the stolen thing to the owner, if returning the stolen thing is difficult, its price should be paid. If the original owner is no more alive, it should be returned to his heirs. If there are no heirs or they cannot be traced, it should be given in charity on their behalf. Also, you should repent to Allah and ask His forgiveness for committing theft.
