What is “Jaan ka Sadqa” and how can it be paid for?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Recently I escaped (by the grace of GOD) with a major accident. What is “Jaan ka Sadqa” and what is the best way to pay for it?

Answer

(Fatwa: 427/422=D)

As per your capability, you should spend in the way of Allah or help a poor as much as you can. When the taubah (repentance) of Hazrat Ka?ab bin Malik was accepted and a verse was revealed in this regard, Hazrat Ka?ab sought permission to give his entire wealth in charity, but the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) permitted him to give only one third of his wealth in charity. Now, it depends on your capability. Thanks should be in comparison to the mercy of Allah provided your heart is contended and you do not encroach others? rights.
