(1) Wanted to know, when one dies, what happens to the Ruh? (2) Is there any truth that when one dies, the soul goes to meet family members and relates to them what was happening in the world? Please explain in detail.

(Fatwa: 1029/1183/N=9/1434)
(1) If the deceased is a pious believer his rooh (soul) is treated with comfort and peace, otherwise it is inflicted with punishment and pain.
(2) In fact it is baseless; there is no evidence in the reliable sources which support it. (Ashraful Jawab, p 168, published by Umar Farooq, Shah Faisal Colony, Karachi)
