Attending Salafi talks

Q: I have been asked the following question. Why can we not go to a salafi talk, and only listen to hadith?

bismillah.jpg

A: One attends a Deeni program with the intention of deriving benefit in one’s Deen. If through the program one becomes confused and does not find the correct direction, then attending such a program will prove detrimental to one’s Deen. As far as the Salafis are concerned, they promote free thinking and do not remain committed to one set of principles as is seen among those that subscribe to one of the four mazhabs. Naturally the outcome of this is disastrous. Hence we advise that extreme caution should be exercised in this matter.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
