Urine, prayer, wudu

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

While prayer if one urinates only a small amount then does one have to wash his body, clothes. Before remaking wudu. Or can I pour water over the effected area on body and garment whilst wearing the garment or does it have to be removed to be cleaned.

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

1. When urine comes out it invalidates one’s wudu (and, as a result, one’s prayer if in it).

2. Less than 5 cm in diameter of urine or other filth is recommended (not obligatory) to remove. It is, however, improper not to remove it unless doing so is difficult in one’s circumstances.

3. More than 5 cm in diameter of urine or other filth is obligatory to remove. Not removing it makes one’s prayer invalid, even if one performs wudu.

See attached answer(s).

Wassalam,

Faraz Rabbani

What if a little urine comes out after wudu? Is it excused?
