Is it permissible to name a person Hameed or Qadeer without Abdul at the beginning?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Assalamualaikum 1-Is it permissible to keep the name Hameed and Qadeer on its own without Abdul at the beginning? 2-Is it permissible to call oneself Abde Muhammad with the Intention that i am ghulam of Muhammad Sallahu alai he wasallam?

Answer

(Fatwa: 641/641=M/1430)

It is permissible, but it is better to keep with Abd i.e. Abdul Qadeer and Abdul Hameed:

التسمیۃ باسم یوجد في کتاب اللہ تعالی کالعلي والکبیر والرشید والبدیع جائزۃ الخ (شامي)

Naming with Abd Muhammad is prohibited; since it might indicate to shirk.

ویؤخذ من قولہ ولا عبد فلان منع  التسمیۃ بعبد النبي (شامي)
