Assalmalikum, I live in joint family in a house owned by my father and bear the full houehold expenses since my father does not work. My query is Can i show this amount as a rent in my office to get the tax benefit. Altough i made it clear to my office that we have our own house and this idea is suggested by them only. Jazakallah
Answer:

If you make intention of house rent for the expenses incurred on household, it is allowable for you to manage it in the manner mentioned above.
