Question Summary
Does the steam that emanates from impure meats when cooked cause that which it contacts to become impure?
Question Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate
No, one’s clothing, body, kitchen walls, etc… are not made impure due to steam emanating from impermissible meats being cooked. [Ibn Maza, al-Muhit al-Burhani]
The Reasoning
Even though the logical conclusion (qiyas) is that impermissible/impure meat that is cooked (especially as a soup) will emanate impure steam, the preferred opinion (istihsan) is that that which is contacted by the steam remains pure unless the impurity itself is tangibly visible (which is highly unlikely in this specific circumstance). [Ibid.]
Hope this helps
